Furrow Cracker

The Furrow Cracker consists of a main beam that is bolted to the plough legs. A blade bar is connected to beam. The blades on the blade bar are adjustable to act either as a rake effect (used on lighter sandy soil) or as a knife to slice clods open. It can be used anywhere between the two extents to suit different soil types.

When the Furrow Cracker is used in the raking mode it levels the soil behind the plough to cut out at least one operation. On light or sandy land this allows the farmer to drill straight behind the plough in some cases.

When the Furrow Cracker is used with the blades positioned inline with the work, the knifes literally slice through the clods. This mode is used in heavy clay and opens the clods up to allow the air into them. Allowing the air into the clods causes them to dry out and break down naturally.

By using the cracker, on even the heaviest clay land, in this mode you can expect to cut out at least one power harrow operation!
