Yield-O-Meter

The Yield-O-Meter was the first product in the Claydon range. It was invented by Jeff Claydon as a method of measuring the yield of crops while harvesting them.

The Claydon Yield-O-Meter was simply fitted onto the elevator head in the Combine Harvesters grain tank. It measures every litre of grain that goes into the tank. By entering a Hectolitre weight into the electronic box the machine can calculate exactly how much grain is being harvested (within 1%).

The device proved to be an excellent tool for keeping record of what was harvested by printing out the report from each field. When harvest is over the yields can be added up so that the exact quantity of grain in the store is known giving an accurate amount that can be sold.

The spot data function let you know where the high and low yielding points in a field are so that a reason could be looked for in that area.

Now that Combine Harvester manufacturers fit their own yield monitors, the Claydon Yield-O-Meter has become a redundant product. It is still however the product that launched a very successful family owned business!
